Dr. James Kenyon

Dr. James Kenyon

Dr. James Kenyon is a graduate of Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He is married to his college sweetheart, Cynthia, and together have 3 children. Following military duty, they relocated from Boston, MA, back to the Midwest.

Dr. Kenyon started the Cedar Valley Veterinary Center with Cali Phillips, Linda Bierman and Cynthia Kenyon in 1981.  Cedar Valley Veterninary Center evolved from a busy, thriving mixed animal practice to a small animal hospital by 1995. There are presently two doctors, 8 staff associates, and 4 kennel attendants.

Dr. Kenyon enjoys many volunteer opportunities in the community, church, professional, and service organizations. He is very active in Rotary, UNI Museum Friends Board, Arcturus, School Board, and State Veterinary committees and Foundations. His hobbies include gardening, reading, and has recently taken up flying lessons. His pets include a rescued poodle named "Mackie".

Dr. Clif Paulsen

Dr. Clif Paulsen

Clif Paulsen, D.V.M. has been with the Cedar Valley Veterinary Center since June of 2003. After receiving his D.V.M. from ISU in 2002, he was involved in an exclusive equine practice in Kentucky before coming back to his native Cedar Falls. Although he enjoys all aspects of veterinary practice, he has special interests in ophthalmology and reproduction.

Outside of Cedar Valley Veterinary Center he enjoys spending time with his wife, Debbie and daughter, Sutton as well as showing American Saddlebred horses and coaching swimming at Cedar Falls High School.

The Veterinarian's Oath

Being admitted to the profession of veterinary medicine, I solemnly swear to use my scientific knowledge and skills for the benefit of society through the protection of animal health, the relief of animal suffering, the conservation of livestock resources, the promotion of public health, and the advancement of medical knowledge. 

I will practice my profession conscientiously, with dignity, and in keeping with the principles of veterinary medical ethics.

I accept as a lifelong obligation the continual improvement of my professional knowledge and competence.
